World Menstrual Day
During ancient times, women were considered to be Achilles’ heel for nation, society, and even at home.
When we make findings, it was only due to the dropping of blood from their genitalia that oozes out every month, leaving a
foul odor and creating an unhygienic environment.
Today, millions of women and girls around the world are stigmatized, excluded and discriminated against simply because they menstruate.
As the contemporary era has developed to its apex, such drawbacks have to be completely eradicated and erased from all corners
of the earth. To nullify and fully deny such oppression, it is celebrated as Menstrual Hygiene Day on 28th of May, all over the world.
The family of Baylling Central school also joined hands with the world to mark the day and give importance to this day.
Teachers and students jointly made the day, a wonderful and memorable one. A few members of DAISAN also went on a campaign to create awareness
and seek donations to provide sanitary pads for the girls at school. Through such innovations and activities,
we can remove the stigma that drags girls and women all over the world.
Living in a contemporary scenario, we must deny the fishy beliefs that women are filthy just because they bleed. This world must be fair,
irrespective of gender, race or caste. So, empowering women must be our first priority as women open the world.
